3/25: More FCAT Practice Problems have been posted under Science FCAT. In addition, under the student logins I have put a link for FCAT Explorer & Study Island. Both are great practice tools to help prepare for the FCAT!
3/9: This is the last week to turn in any late work for the 9 weeks. Students will be turning in their physical/ chemical changes & properties projects! 3/3: This week students are completing the FSA Writing test. Students will be working on Physical/ Chemical Properties/ Changes project. 2/6: Answers to the Chapter 9 Study Guide are posted under the "chapter notes" tab! 2/3: Students will take their Ch.9 Waves & Light test on Monday 2/9 (ODD) and Tuesday 2/10 (EVEN). This is our last section for Physics, we will begin Chemistry on Wednesday and continue through the rest of the year! 1/26: ALL 8th grade science students will be DE testing 2/2 OR 2/3. This will be the last DE test before the Science FCAT in April. 1/11: Science Fair will be held in the media center from 5-8PM on Thursday January 15th! Families are welcome to join in on the fun and view science fair projects! 1/5: Welcome back! Hope everyone had a happy and safe New Year! We will be beginning a unit on Waves and Light. Advanced Students: Please note that Science Fair will be held at SSMS any day between 1/14- 1/16. I will give you further information as time gets closer. 12/15: Students are taking their semster final exams all week. In addition, their student guide is due the day of their exam. 12/1: Students have started the last unit before their semester exam- Heat and Temperature. Students will have a quiz on this unit on Wednesday (12/3) 11/20: Standard Students: the Jeopardy review game that we played in class has been posted under the chapter notes tab. This can be used to help study/ quiz yourself. Remember chp. 12 force test is on Monday (ODD) and Tuesday (EVEN) 11/18: All students, notes and worksheets for the forces and motion unit have been posted under the chapter notes tab. 11/17: Advanced Students are working on a CSI Motion Project. Remember to bring in shoe boxes and other supplies for your car crash dioramas. 11/17: Standard: Students will have a test next Monday (11/24) and Tuesday (11/25). I will be offering Tutoring this week. Tuesday (11/18): 4-5pm Wednesday (11/19): 8-9am Thursday (11/20): 8-9 am and 4- 5pm If you want to come in the morning make sure you get a pass from me! 10/27: DE testing for science will be Monday (11/3) and Tuesday (11/4). 10/27: The chapter 11 unit test will be this Thursday (10/30) and Friday (10/31). The green study guide is due for a grade at this time. Also, if you turn in your chapter 11 notes you will receive extra credit. 10/20: Last week students explored energy by creating roller coasters! There will be a quiz on KE and PE on Thursday and Friday. Please study your "Nature of Energy Notes and Practice Problems" 10/13: As we begin the 2nd nine weeks make sure you are aware that late work this 9 weeks will only be taken for a max of 70%. Remember to study for your acceleration quiz for Monday and Tuesday! 10/4: The end of the nine weeks is this Thursday. Please check skyward if you are missing any assignments. I will only except late work till WEDNESDAY! 9/24: AVDANCED ONLY- Science fair projects and log books are due NEXT Wednesday 10/1. I will be in my classroom before and after school on Monday and after school on Tuesday for any last minute questions. 9/17: Students have a nature of science test this Thursday (ODD) and Friday (EVEN). 9/8: Advanced students: Remember your background research report is due this wednesday. It must be 2 pages and include 2 references. Please see science fair packet for more information. 9/2: Advanced students: please be sure to visit the rules wizzard website answer the questions and either print or screen shot the form. In addition, parents need to sign forms 1, 1A, and 1B. These forms are due Wednesday (EVEN) Thursday (ODD). 8/20: Students will need to return the lab safety contract sin by a parent or guardian by Friday (EVEN) and Monday (ODD) ~ Advanced ONLY (Science fair packets were passed out, students have their first assignment due on Wednesday August 27, 2014!) 8/13: Students will need a 1' 3 ring binder by Monday Aug 18th (ODD) or Tuesday Aug 19th (EVEN) |
